Electronic Signatures

Since we will not be using handwritten signatures in MedInformatix, anyone who saves or signs
documents must establish an electronic signature. This is another password known only to you.
It must be kept confidential.

To establish or change your electronic signature password, you will need to first click on File in
your Workflow Views, then click on Return.

Then click on Log In (see blue arrow) at the top left of the window and then in the drop down menu choose “Set Electronic
Signature.”

You will then get a screen that is identical to when you first logged into the system. You must
log in again, because you are now logging into the security section of MedInformatix. Use your
password for MIX again.
You will have to re-log in and will then be presented with an “Enter Electronic Signature Code”
screen as shown below.

Mixing letters and numbers is not recommended. Type in your code
and select Save (or Enter on your keyboard). You must confirm your electronic signature
password on the next screen. You will get a confirmation screen if the process is successful.
You will also be prompted to “Test” your electronic signature. It’s advisable to do this to insure
the process worked correctly.

If, at any time, you believe that someone else knows your electronic signature code, then you
should use the process above to change it.
